10 Week Hatch Day Update: Amelia

Amelia is probably the most commonly identified chick in the group and a crowd favorite with her "messy hair, I don't care" look. She loves following her brothers when they are investigating the coop and spending time on her swing watching the sea of grass and wild birds.

Amelia is also quick to drag greens out of the treat ball and play tether ball with heads of lettuce in the coop. Taking after her Chickie Daddy, she is also an avid flyer (stay tuned for a traumatized Chickie Momma post about having to clip wings). Amelia often flies up to the higher bars in the coop to get a better view of the world around her.

Often spotted with the Littles still running around while everyone else is getting ready to roost, the trio has been dubbed the Wildlings for their antics and Amelia is their leader. (Chicken antics include pecking at Chickie Momma's toes painted bright pink, rushing the door when water is being filled up, and playing a game of chase when Chickie Daddy is trying to adjust the swing.)

For her ten week check-up Amelia weighed in at 1 pound 3 ounces, quite a bit lighter than her partner in crime Mae but overflowing with personality and style.
