10 Week Hatch Day Update: Ada

10 Week Hatch Day Update: Ada

Don't let Ada's status as one of the "Littles" confuse you, she has grown from a tiny fluffy chick to a healthy 2lb 3oz chicken. Early on Ada was quite the patchwork of fluff colors, but as she grew her chicken feathers she developed an amazing pattern on her feathers that is totally unique from her sisters.

Ada loves to hang out with her sisters from the older pairs, particularly Mae and Vera. She is one of the first to bed, not leading the parade to the hut but close to the front. She enjoys her dust bath time and likes to hang out either in the bath or on perched on the tire.

Ada absolutely loves her hosta leaves, and free range time for her means feasting on the plants just outside the coop. Chickie Mama loves this behavior, especially since all she thinks the hostas are good for is chicken feed! Ada was also our mealworm fiend for a long time, she could be counted on to grab up the mealworms and scurry away from her sisters to feast.  That hasn't changed, and continues with greens as well as mealworms and crickets.
