October is for Oatmeal

We’ve been fortunate with our first year layers continuing to provide eggs through these first cold weeks of fall. How cold you ask? Cold enough for frost to knock out several of their favorite salad bars in the yard and for Chickie Parents to add warm oatmeal onto their list of treats. 

It’s a good thing the trial supply came from Costco because at this rate it will be a near daily treat for these spoiled chickens, add-ins changing daily (of course): mealworms, cracked corn, pumpkin seeds, dried herbs, fruits and veggies.
